✍️ Your daily tasks will be 

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases and related tools;
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal performance;
• Develop, implement, and manage database backup and recovery strategies;
• Implement and manage database security policies, including user account management, access controls, and data encryption;
• Ensure the integrity and consistency of data through regular audits and checks;
• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues and incidents in a timely manner;
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures;
• Work closely with development teams to design, implement, and maintain database solutions that meet business requirements;
• Monitor and plan for future storage needs and ensure databases can scale to meet increasing demands;
• Ensure databases comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements;
• Develop and implement scripts and automation tools to streamline database management tasks;
• Provides on-call coverage for production support and administration of PostgreSQL.

✔️ What we expect from you

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration/Engineering, including performance tuning and optimization, replication, clustering, and high availability;
  
• Experience in deploying and supporting PostgreSQL clusters in production;
  
• Experience with cloud-based PostgreSQL solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL);
  
• Experience with Git version control system;
  
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL;
  
• Familiarity with other database technologies (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB);
  
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible);
  
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation;
  
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems;
  
• Familiarity with database security best practices;
  
• Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies;
  
• Experience working in high-availability and scalable environments;
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  
• Team player with strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with the business to understand user needs;
  
• Excellent English skills.
